There was a forecast for multiple touchdowns this afternoon in the game between the New Westminster Hyacks clashed against the Mt. Douglas Rams and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
The Hyacks came out swinging with a flurry of touchdowns to capture the JV AAA title in their first ever appearance in the JV finals.
Game MVP Sammy Sidhu rushed for a game-high four touchdowns, opening the game with a huge 70-yard touchdown and adding another 70-yard run later on, to lift the Hyacks to a 48-29 win over the Rams and capture the JV AAA for the first time in school history in their first-ever appearance in the title game.
The Hyacks also got scores from a Kinsale Phillip pass to Shane Belsher, and one run apiece by Broxx Comia and Robertson Yagyog. Comia was also busy on the other side of the ball recording an interception late in the game, while Severio Abasa recorded a pick. Severio Asaba also made several pass knockdowns that would save the Hyacks from Gideone Kremler’s deep throws.
For three quarters, the game was quite close between the Rams and the Hyacks, with the score being 34-29 at the beginning of the fourth quarter before New West managed to pull away for good. Rams QB Kremler threw several touchdowns, including three to Connor Clarke, to keep the Mt. Douglas close for the majority of the contest even trading leads multiple times throughout the early part of the contest.

Gideone Kremler (Mt. Douglas) – Although the Rams lost the game, Kremler worked well under pressure and threw several deep balls to keep the Hyacks on their toes for most of the game and also ran for big yards.
